CALL FOR PAPERS
Along the past years, Ain Shams University Students’ Scientific Society
has been able to organize one of the major events in the field of
medical research. The 12th Annual International Medical Students’
Congress comes in continuation to the effort that has been exerted over
the past years.

Who should attend?
Medical students and young doctors who are interested in research and
who have been involved in worthwhile medical research are all invited.
Why attend?
The congress offers a unique opportunity to present your research in
front of an international audience and in front of a scientific jury of
very high caliber.
Awards
The winner awards for this year will be for the 1st two winners for Oral
presentations and 1st two winners for poster presentations, and named
after our beloved Professor Ali Khalifa, may God rest his soul.
* 1st Oral and 1st Poster presentation awards: 1000 Euros each
* 2nd Oral and 2nd Poster presentation awards: A place in our
annual Summer School for each
How to apply?
You can either apply as an active participant or as an audient. (number
of accepted audients is restricted to a certain limit)
Visit our website where you will find a link titled “congressâ€. This
link will take you to the page where you can provide all the needed
information and where you can also type your abstract -if you are an
active participant- stating the method of presentation (oral or poster)
Please read carefully the tips on the website concerning the typing of
your abstract.
Once you have submitted your abstract it will be reviewed blindly by a
special scientific board that is entitled to accept the best abstracts
to be presented at the congress.
If your abstract has been accepted, you will receive an official
invitation letter that will enable you to start your preparations to
travel.
This letter will also facilitate the process of obtaining the visa to
Egypt from the nearest Egyptian Embassy to where you live or study.
What are the congress tracks?
1. Public Health
is one of the major tracks. All abstracts dealing with public health,
epidemiology, occupational and environmental medicine are placed here.
2. Internal Medicine
is divided into cardiology, hematology, nephrology, gastroenterology and
neurology. According to the number of accepted abstracts, these sessions
are divided into the above mentioned topics.
3. Surgery
4. Pediatrics
5. Obstetrics & Gynecology
6. Immunology & Microbiology
7. Free Medical Topics
All other accepted abstracts that cannot be classified under the major
tracks are placed here. A huge diversity of professors is invited to be
the scientific jury for these sessions.
Workshops
Workshops have not yet been specified except that the congress this year
is expected to host workshops in collaboration with WHO, Red Cross,
American University of Cairo and Gynecology & Obstetrics Department at
Ain Shams University.

Congress Fee
The congress fee is 150 Euros (€)
This fee is to be paid in cash upon arrival at the registration desk.
This fee covers your participation, accommodation, social outings (tour
to the Pyramids & Sphinx, Citadel, Oriental Dance Show, Night Gathering
and the Gala Dinner) and the certificate of attendance.
Official Language
The official language is English.

Post Congress Tour
A pre-arranged trip to Hurghada (a famous Red Sea resort) with an over
day trip to Luxor (ancient capital of Egypt that is said to host almost
one third of all the world’s antiquities)
The tour costs 150 Euros (€) that cover half board accommodation, Red
Sea offshore trip, transportation and the Luxor excursion.
